THE SENIOR STAFF OF THE 1940S

Unlike, in more modern times, the staff tended to remain at the school for decades rather than years.  Examples include Mr Flexen, Mr Miles, Miss Wykeham-Martin and Miss King to name but a few.

Of course the same applied to the more senior staff such as Mr Frazer (from 1908 until his death in 1945) followed by Mr Weech in a caretaker capacity until the headship of Mr Gedge while Miss Peach served from 1919 until her retirement as Senior Mistress in 1957.
